I have two new products to share with you guys by Mystelic Beauty! You can buy both of these products online at Amazon and I will link them below.
I have been using both of these products for a couple of weeks and while the eye cream is not on my list of absolute must haves, I think the lotion is a good one.
Before I start, I’d like to say that I’m personally a bit on the fence with any “eye treatment”. I pretty much think that they are a money grab, and that any serum you use all over your face, can be used around your eyes (note that I sound around your eyes) instead of spending the extra money on a product “specifically” for your eyes. Now, sometimes there may be ingredients that are irritating, but if applied correctly, this should be pretty rare (or only occur with sensitive skin or allergies). When you’re applying any product (except makeup) around your eyes, you aren’t putting it on your eyelids or that close to your eyes. If you feel near your eyes you should be able to feel the bone around your eye, that is where you apply eye products. I pretty much go around under my eye, and follow just below my brow. Product spreads over time, so you don’t need to apply it right on your eyelid! So on to the products now…
The bottles are sleek and professional looking, and match from product to product. They are pump bottles, and one pump is enough for application. I also like that the bottles aren’t glass. I’m always so scared of glass bottles on my counter tops because I’m clumsy as all hell and knock crap all over the place all the time. At least I know these won’t break or spill when I knock them over!
The ingredients are easy to read, and are similar to the Vitamin C serums I posted a while back. While they’re not as organic as the serums, they are still mostly made of naturally derived ingredients, and everyone likes that!
Natures Best Eye Treatment
This treatment claims to (taken from the description on Amazon):
I will say that it does moisturize. The rest, I’m not so sure about. I really only have fine lines/wrinkles around my eyes when I smile, and it did nothing to help that (but I wouldn’t expect any topical product to). I’m also not a fan of how sticky it feels after. It does absorb quickly, but it’s sticky until then. I personally wouldn’t bother, but I also wouldn’t have a better one to recommend. I’m actually going to give this to my mom, and will update this in a couple weeks or so and let you guys know what she thought about it as well!
If you’d like to give it a try, you can buy it on Amazon for $37.95 by clicking here
Natures Best Face Lotion
This lotion claims to (taken from the description on Amazon):
Some big claims for this one. First, I’d like to point out that there are 5 skin types (normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive). I would also like to stress to everyone reading this, not to believe everything you read (yes, I know it seems very contradictory for me to write that). I usually tell people to avoid products that make such extreme guarantees and have such a low price tag. Not many (if any at all) people in the cosmetic industry are here to help you look younger at an affordable price.
That being said, I actually do like this lotion. I hate what they try to guarantee, and think that they need to really reword their entire description, but I would recommend this as a moisturizer, not a miracle worker. Having tried it already, I would buy again even though I would cringe at the description.
It is a lightweight moisturizer that absorbs super quick and feels great. I have combination skin, and I’m pretty prone to stress and hormonal breakouts, but this didn’t make anything worse for me (other than maybe some stress pimples from their outrageous description, yeah, I’m still going on about it). Overall, I would recommend you to turn a blind eye to the description and just buy it without expecting to have a plump, wrinkle free face after.
If you’d like to buy this lotion, you can check it out on Amazon for $34.95 by clicking here.
I have something special to share with you guys today! Most importantly, my FIRST product comparison, but also my first review of a couple products. With the beauty industry quickly telling us that we need all these anti aging, anti wrinkle, anti ugly products, I have decided that I would help you guys pick some products that I have tested, use, and like. Up front and center is an anti aging vitamin c serum. I’ve used each for about two weeks and I’ll talk about the differences of each, or you can scroll right down to see the nitty gritty on the two!
Pure Body Naturals Vitamin C Serum
This is the serum I started with. It’s a slightly thick, cloudy liquid. It smells like witch hazel, which I like. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky. You know how after you eat some sliced oranges and have juice dripping all over your hands and arms, and you try to just rub in that orangey goodness but it gets all sticky and you basically have to have a shower? No? Okay, that’s probably just me. But this serum doesn’t feel like that anyways.
After day one my skin was noticeably brighter. That’s the great thing about serums, you get almost instant results. After a couple more days my face felt more hydrated too. When it comes to the anti-aging properties, I can’t say much. Aside from invasive treatments, there isn’t anything you can do about current wrinkles, and I don’t know if any new wrinkles have been prevented, but I’d like to think they have.
The only problem I have with this serum is the bottle itself. I personally find it ugly and there seems to be too much going on. Maybe I’m just being hard on it because I have another bottle to compare it to, who knows. I don’t like the dropper top either. It does give it an expensive feel when it clinks against the glass bottle, but if you aren’t careful (or you’re clumsy like me) you’re bound to knock it over at some point and all that liquid gold is plumping up your floor.
Day by Day Beauty Vitamin C Serum
This is the second serum I used. It has the same consistency, smell, and texture after application as the Pure Body Naturals serum.
When I stopped using the first serum, my skin basically went back to its regular self after about a week (keeping up with my regular routine, just taking out the serum so I could try this one). After day one, I had the same results, my skin was bright again. After day two, my skin was nice and hydrated and plump feeling again. Love it!
Let’s start with the actual bottles. I personally prefer the blue bottle as I feel like it looks more expensive (again, my opinion). I also prefer the pump dispenser on the Day by Day serum because I know that at some point, I will spill the entire bottle of Pure Body Naturals serum, and I will be very upset.
While still on the topic of bottles, if you take a look at the labels for each bottle, you’ll see all the similarities in the ingredients. You’ll also see that Pure Body Naturals mislabeled theirs and have a few ingredients in the list twice. Otherwise, the ingredients are the same. I actually asked the company if they made both under different names to see which would sell better, they said they only made the one. But that’s how similar they are. Looks wise, I like the Day by Day label the best. It looks more professional, and very well put together. I like that there aren’t so many colors that it becomes distracting, the logo fits perfectly, and it all just flows.
The appearance is really the only difference that I found (and $1 in the price). So in the end, if you asked me which one I would by, it would come down to appearance and I would have to say Day by Day wins it for me.
Once again, here’s where you can buy these serums, or just take a look at other reviews!
If you try either of these products, or have your own favorite Vitamin C serum, I’d love to hear about it!
DISCLAIMER: I received both of these products for review from the company. All opinions are my own, and I was not paid to say anything.
